Ketchup Trivia
November 19, 2008
Here is a piece of trivia for all of you tomato lovers out there…
The average person consumes 95 pounds of tomatoes a year in the form of sauces, salsas and this popular condiment _______?
Yes Ketchup! (Thank you Alex Trebek)
Make sure that when you do use ketchup that you avoid the high-fructose corn-syrup and food colorings. Remember, we puree beets to give our ketchup its bright red color.
So, when you decide to tackle that 95 pound statistic; make sure to eat well and eat Curry Ketchup!
First Frost
November 12, 2008
Brrr… The First Frost has hit and everyone knows what that means. It is officially Soup Season! Which one is your favorite? Black Bean? Lentil? Vegetarian? Or Peanut? Yes, “Peanut Soup,” and our Plantation Peanut Soup carries on the wonderful Virgina tradition made with all-natural or organic ingredients. Peanut soup makes an incredible first course because of its rich and vibrant flavors. Most of you are familiar with the traditional soups that I mentioned above but be assured that we use organic beans and lentils and organic spices. NO salt, NO MSG. Be sure to welcome friends and family into your home by greeting them with the wonderful aroma of your homemade soup and bask in the (warm!) glow of all the accolades!
