Our Story
In the nineties, We began with a coffee house that had three tables inside. People gathered, and soon lunch was being served. We shared our passion for cooking and eating simply, with
remarkable sandwiches, incredible relishes and chutneys and everyone came for Steven’s soups, even calling ahead to reserve a cup or bowl.
When people kept asking for our sauces, dressings, and soups to take home and enjoy at their own table, Montebello Kitchens was born.
Today, Montebello Kitchens is an award winning specialty food company. We make our products by hand in small batches that honors Virginia traditions and heritage, surrounding ourselves with family and the comfort of good food.
Since the beginning we have enlisted the help of family and friends. Rebecc’s mother, Suzie, is our supporting partner with endless encouragement. Our good friend Jolie and her daughter Amanda help out wherever needed, and have mastered peanut soup packing. Jason and Linda, our cousins in Maryland, are always there unselfishly helping us with trade shows and events.
Because we are a family business, we believe in shared obligations – to customers, to vendors, to employees. We believe that integrity, hard work, and good will, pay off in satisfied customers. We strive to be a friend to the environment and the community through responsible business practices, donations, volunteerism, and community memberships. Most importantly, we have fun doing what we do and we thank you for enjoying our food.
