Montebello Kitchens Partners with Local Non-Profits for Fundraiser

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Montebello Kitchens, a Virginia’s Finest company producing artisan Virginia foods, is providing significantly discounted gourmet soup mixtures to a September fundraiser. In turn, the Charlottesville-Albemarle chapter of Meals on Wheels will sell the soups at two area locations: at the Barracks Road Shopping Center on September 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at the Downtown ACAC athletic facility on September 26 from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds from the soup sales will benefit the local chapter of Meals on Wheels, a non-profit dedicated to feeding local residents physically or mentally unable to prepare their own meals.

Montebello Kitchens takes its community involvement one step further by partnering with WorkSource Enterprises, a local 501 (c) (3) organization that provides job training, as well as employment opportunities, to area residents with disabilities. This week, WorkSource members will package the Montebello Kitchen soups in preparation for the upcoming fundraiser, an example of what Lynch calls “a win-win” collaboration. Montebello Kitchens prides itself not only on offering products of the finest quality and highest nutritional content, but also in giving back. “We believe in shared obligations,” continues Lynch, “to customers, to vendors, to employees and to our community. As a family business, we believe that integrity and hard work will pay off in satisfied customers.” By calling upon a local organization like WorkSource to collaborate in the Meals on Wheels fundraiser, Lynch hopes to foster a spirit of partnership and cooperation throughout his community.

Born and raised in Charlottesville, Lynch is always seeking ways to help on a local level. He believes a family-owned business like Montebello Kitchens has an obligation to improve the community it serves. “We all should feel fortunate to live and do business in a place as special as this is,” Lynch remarks, “and we feel like giving back in these small ways is the least we can do.”

The Charlottesville-Albemarle chapter of Meals on Wheels was founded by Church Women United, and has provided nutritious meals to area residents for thirty-one years. The Montebello Kitchens soups will be for sale at the September fundraiser. As always, they are available at Virginia stores that specialize in local and organic products. They can also be purchased at www.montebellokitchens.com.

I just purchased your Curry Ketchup from MOMs in Rockville, MD. I love it! It reminds me of the curry ketchup I used to eat when I lived in The Netherlands. I really have not been able to find it in Maryland so thanks for making a great product.
